Dr. Shawn P. Dolan
Dr. Dolan knew at age 8 she wanted to become a large animal veterinarian. At the age of 4 she started riding lessons and at 11 she was solely responsible for her first pony.
Pursuing her dreams she attended Michigan State University. She first graduated with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science followed by a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She furthered her education by studying at Options for Animals becoming IVCA certified in animal chiropractic. Later she studied acupuncture at the Chi Institute becoming certified in animal acupuncture. Dr. Dolan began her solo practice in 2009 and has been practicing veterinary medicine in West Michigan for over a decade.
Dr. Dolan lives with her husband, Scott, their 2 dogs, 2 horses and 2 goats. She enjoys traveling, riding her horses and spending time on the water.
“Tonight Dr. Dolan helped my horse cross the rainbow bridge and was so gentle and sweet. She called to tell me what she thought and followed up with a message of condolence. Thank you Dr. Dolan.” Julie

Hassan or “Hass” as he is known to clients, has been working with Dr. Dolan for over 10 years. Hassan graduated college with a degree in Emergency Medical Services, Outdoor Emergency Care, Fire Science and an associates in Applied Sciences. Hassan has always had a love for animals and veterinary medicine. Since he was young, he has owned and been around large animals. He enjoys all aspects of large animal medicine but has special interests in assisting with surgeries, wound management, laceration repair and emergencies. He is glad he can continue to work for the practice in addition to his other work. Veterinary medicine is still one of his favorite pursuits and he never feels like he’s really working when doing it.
Hassan was born and raised in West Michigan. He has two dogs, a cat and a mini horse. In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, camping, skiing and riding his ATV.
